WIKILEAKS founder Julian Assange was travelling to his native Australia yesterday, following his release from prison in the UK, after five years of fighting extradition to the United States.
Assange is on way to Australia

Assange had to pay $500,000 (£396,000) for a chartered flight from Stansted, accompanied by a WikiLeaks lawyer, a representative of the Australian government and a medic to check on his health.

His wife, Stella, said her relief at his release was coupled with anger that he had spent so long in prison. She told the Press Association that she had travelled to Australia with the couple’s two sons, Gabriel and Max, last Sunday, when it became clear that Assange would be freed.
