Audi driver did not stop after fatal collision

A MAN has pleaded guilty to failing to stop at a red light before a woman was fatally struck by two cars.

Rashid Javed, 37, was travelling in an Audi A8 when he went through a red light on Chester Road, in Streford.

He then failed to stop after his car was allegedly involved in a collision with a woman.

The incident happened near the Tesco superstore in July last year, just after 10pm.

Police said at the time that a woman in her 40s was struck by a black Audi A8, which was travelling city-bound, as she crossed Chester Road, before falling into the path of a Mercedes on the Stretford-bound carriageway.

Depsite the best efforts of emergency workers, the woman, Michelle Barlow, 41, died from her injuries.
