The Reds, who completed their first signing of the summer transfer window this week by landing Mason Mount from Chelsea, face Championship side Leeds United in Norway on Wednesday.
That marks the first of eight friendlies the Reds are set to play before the Premier League kick-off on August 14, though the club's academy is set to take care of the clash with Wrexham in San Diego.
Nevertheless, seven first-team friendlies will provide manager Erik ten Hag with no shortage of time and opportunities to experiment with his squad, assess his players' fitness levels and mould together his vision for the new campaign.
It will also give him the chance to run the rule over Mount.
The England international was the Dutchman's primary target to strengthen his midfield options.
Though nothing can be guaranteed, there is a general feeling Mount will automatically slot into United's three-man midfield in place of Christian Eriksen.
