THE Kingfisher Trail is a network of important wildlife areas stretching from Jumbles Country Park in Bolton to Philips Park Local Nature Reserve in Prestwich.
Hundreds of volunteers work on the beauty spots in between, including Longsight Park, Seven Acres, Leverhulme Park, the Darcy Lever Gravel Pits, Manchester Bolton and Bury Canal and Clifton Country Park.
These refuges for wildlife are managed by wildlife charities and local councils and there is also a lot of work on areas in between.
The Kingfisher Trail is a corridor for plants and animals to spread and flourish, it is the ideal way to manage nature over a larger area.
It was a good subject for my talk to the lovely Clifton Monday Club this week.
