Terry Malone moved into Pendleton Court in Salford in January 2023.
His loved ones say the last year has been marred with concerns about his care. Two weeks ago, Mr Malone was admitted to Salford Royal Hospital 'extremely poorly' with pneumonia.
His daughter claims a hospital pharmacist rang Pendleton Court to check his medication a week later and was told by staff he had been 'discharged' from the home.
The family say they were never told Mr Malone had been 'discharged. The care home told their father's social worker 'the family [was] aware and [had] agreed to collect his belongings, they claim. Mr Malone's daughter denies any such conversation took place.
The care home said there had been a 'genuine misunderstanding' and apologised for the 'confusion caused'.
Jane Naylor told the M.E.N. her dad moved into Pendleton Court on January 8 last year. She said concerns were later raised about his diabetic sugar levels; belongings going missing; and bruising on his arms and hands.
Ms Naylor said her dad became unwell on January 31. He has been at Salford Royal ever since with pneumonia. She said they were asked by a pharmacist about Mr Malone's medication.
