A FORMER dealer jailed for a £100k drugs racket now runs extreme ultra 100-mile marathons after completely turning his life around.
Niall Trainor, 33, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs in cocaine and conspiracy to conceal or transfer criminal property, which is commonly known as money laundering.
He spent over two years on remand and was sentenced to six years and fourth months in jail, of which he did half before being released on licence in September 2023.
After reaching breaking point during his arrest, the dad of two was desperate to return to his children Ariella, 6 and Oliver, 12.
He decided he needed to turn his life around for good, taking up exercise and beginning to help others to give himself a new purpose.
"From the minute I was arrested I truly knew I was on a journey to becoming reformed and that I had and wanted to change my life," he told the M.E.N.
Niall, from Wythenshawe, began partaking in gruelling exercises from 5k burpees in 12 hours, treadmill marathons and 24-hour walks, with 12 of those hours involving walking back and forth in his cell.
He learned a will to 'suffer' in exercise and use his resilience as a gift to help others by raising money for charity.
