SALFORD is in Andy Beaden's blood. His grandparents ran a classic "Coronation Street" style corner shop in Salford and his dad lived above the store.
Today, he and his business partner run a company based at The Quays. It employs 70 and helps young people get better jobs by providing new technology skills training.
When the businessman saw Salford Lads and Girls Club was facing a crisis, he knew what he had to do.
His firm, IN4.0, has now donated £10,000 to the club, which has to raise £250,000 by the end of November to avoid closure.
Andy, 57, said: "I was not myself a Lads Club member, though I now live in Greengate, Salford.
I was born in Stockport. My dad, Alan Beaden, was born and bred in Salford, becoming a printer for the Express News Papers, before moving to Stockport.
"He passed away in 2001. So the donation we made was in his memory. His parents owned a classic old "Corner Shop" in Hilton Street in Higher Broughton.
