Deansgate Square South Tower flat-owners have submitted letters of objection over plans to build two 47 and two 51-storey skyscrapers on land currently used as padel courts and car parking next to their development. The South Tower has been the city's tallest building, at 200 metres (656 ft, since it opened in 2018
Now, the developers behind it Renaker - are continuing with plans in the area, which has been earmarked as a 'skyscraper district' by the council for years. Its latest bid is called phase three, and will include 'four residential buildings 47-storeys and two at 51-storeys, providing a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bed properties' alongside 'a two-storey colonnade surrounding new public square, with residential towers anchoring each corner of the square, according to a planning application.
