RESIDENTS across Greater Manchester were startled after Typhoon jets were heard blasting over the region yesterday.
A Scandinavian Airlines plane heading to Manchester Airport was intercepted by two RAF Typhoons after a 'brief and temporary loss of communications! Flight trackers showed the plane from Oslo to Manchester being escorted over the north east of England before it landed safely in Manchester.
The plane 'lost communications' on the way to Manchester, a spokesperson for Manchester Airport confirmed. The Typhoons were deployed to escort it to a safe landing as is 'standard procedures, before it was met by emergency services on the runway.
