Bizarre bubbles floated in the air in parts of Tameside yesterday morning.
The suds emerged from the River Tame alongside Park Road, in Dukinfield, while residents also reported seeing bubbles land on nearby streets in Stalybridge and Ashton. Those living closest to the river were startled by the surreal display outside their homes.
"It was horrendous," said Derek Cooper, 89. "It was all up in the air. It was like a snow storm. At the back [of my house] it was full of foam."
