JOSE Mourinho sent Ruben Amorim a message after he took over as the inaugural head coach of United.
Mourinho spent two and a half years in charge of United between 2016-18 and remains their most successful manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. The Portuguese guided United to a League Cup and Europa League double in his first season and second place in the Premier League in his second campaign, as well as to the FA Cup final.
Amorim visited United's Carrington training complex in April 2018 for an internship through a university course in Lisbon and met Mourinho. The pair posed for a photograph in the two-time Champions League winner's office and Amorim fondly recalled their meeting.
