SCHOOL crossing patrols in part of Greater Manchester are to be given body-worn cameras after two children were hit by cars and a lollipop lady was assaulted outside a school.
Rochdale council aims to deter hostile and dangerous drivers as well as protect children and crossing patrol staff.
The move comes after a fouryear-old boy was clipped by a car which failed to stop at a crossing on Hartley Lane and Daventry Road on May 16.
Then, on May 21, a car queuing in traffic on Kiln Lane, Milnrow, reversed into an 11-year-old girl as she was crossing the road. The driver was trying to beat the traffic by cutting through a nearby estate.
