WHEN Susan moved into her home in a peaceful corner of Prestwich 39 years ago, she thought the serenity would last forever.

She raised her son on the quiet culde-sac just minutes away from Heaton Park, where, she says, children often play on the street.

But around six years ago, Susan, who has asked that her real name isn't used, says a property on Sheepfoot Lane, the main road north of her street, appeared on Airbnb as a short-term rental house. The massive modern villa, which sleeps 16, boasts luxurious facilities including a private pool and hot tub and began to attract large groups of people looking to celebrate in style.
