THE family of a trainee police officer who took his own life have said he was 'failed' and argued that his death 'could have been prevented! Anugrah Abraham, 21, from Whitefield, was found hanged in woodland in Radcliffe on March 4 last year.

An inquest at Rochdale Coroners Court heard he had been struggling with the pressure of being a trainee PC with West Yorkshire Police (WYP) while also doing a degree apprenticeship at Leeds Trinity University.

Delivering her findings at the end of the inquest on Tuesday, senior coroner Joanne Kearsley ruled that Mr Abraham's death was suicide. However, she said there was 'no evidence that any steps should have been taken' which would have prevented his tragic death.
