The costs of renting a home in Oldham and Stockport have risen more than any other areas in Greater Manchester – at 14.7 per cent and 14pc respectively.
Nationally, the cost of renting in the UK has risen by an average of 8.4pc over the last 12 months, although the increase is more than that figure for every one of Greater Manchester’s 10 boroughs.
People renting homes in England paid an average of £1,327 a month in the year to August, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics. In Greater Manchester, that figure stands at £917.
