MUCH excitement in our garden today when I spotted the first chiffchaff we have seen in these parts.
I believe it's the first chiffchaff I have ever seen and I managed to get a reasonable video of this beautiful tiny bird.
It was confusing at first because it was like seeing someone in a place that you wouldn't expect.
Like going to a gig and seeing a workmate and having no idea that they have the same weird taste as you. "Amy? What are you doing here?"
My bird identification skills were telling me wren, but there's no mask or cocked tail or goldcrest with no crest. I was edging towards a type of warbler.
