An electoral alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress for the next month’s Assembly elections in Haryana appeared highly unlikely on Monday as Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP decided to go solo and released a first list of 20 aspirants.
Haryana state unit chief of AAP Sushil Gupta said his party will contest all 90 Assembly seats on its own.
“AAP has made its decision.. We have gone ahead and announced candidates for 20 seats (with a) further list to come as well. We are confident about our outcome on all 90 seats...” Sushil Gupta said.
“We waited (for the alliance) because the organisation (the Congress) is strong in every Assembly and that strong organisation wanted us to contest the election. We showed our patience and, after that, we released our list...”Gupta told reporters.
