In a security scare during a padyatra in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar on Saturday, a man splashed liquid on former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, prompting accusations, counter-claims, and a political firestorm. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged the substance was spirit and claimed the attacker intended to set Kejriwal afire. However, the Delhi Police dismissed the claim, stating that the substance was water.
The incident occurred around 5:50 pm during Kejriwal's public engagement in Savitri Nagar, part of the Greater Kailash constituency. The accused, identified as Ashok Jha, a 41-year-old bus marshal with Delhi Transport Corporation, was immediately apprehended.
