'Advisory on deepfakes soon'

The Centre is not considering a separate regulation on deepfakes at the moment, but has prepared an advisory that will be issued to all tech firms shortly, said Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union minister of state for information technology (IT)

The advisory will be issued soon after the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit in New Delhi ends on Thursday, he said, warning of “even tighter rules" if companies fail to follow it.
