SC show-cause on 2 NCLAT members for defying order

The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to two members of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) for disregarding its directives in the Finolex Cable case and ordered a fresh hearing.

SC show-cause on 2 NCLAT members for defying order

The bench, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, found Rakesh Kumar (judicial member) and Alok Srivastava (technical member) liable for contempt of court, and summoned them to appear before the Supreme Court on 30 October.

The court also set aside an NCLAT ruling of 13 October and ordered that the Finolex Cable case now be heard by the chairperson of the tribunal.
