The car was pretty but I do remember sharing the driving with a very nice bloke called Tim who was an expert on Second World War history and proved to be a lot more interesting than the car we were testing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Skoda fan, and was so even before VW bought the company, when jokes about the brand were rife.
The Superb, for example, is as capacious as any Volvo or Merc yet is terrific value for money.
The Octavia is also class leading in size and, again, you get a lot for your money. The Karoq though, well it's just a bit bland.
Anyway, let's give it another chance because Skoda has just given it a mild facelift, fitting slimmer LED headlamps and tail lamps, plus a more aerodynamic bodykit. It's also brought in across-the-board changes to engines to make them cleaner and more efficient.
