The data provided by the Delhi government revealed astounding figures for the first quarter of 2022-23. There was a staggering 258.63 percent increase in revenue collection and an impressive 246.72 percent increase in liquor sales during this period. The total revenue collected between April and June 2022-23 amounted to Rs 1,727.61 crore, with liquor sales reaching 22.71 crore bottles. In contrast, during the same period in 2021-22, the revenue collected was Rs 481.72 crore, and liquor sales stood at 6.55 crore bottles.
