A fresh notification has been published in the official gazette by the Urban Local Bodies Department of the Haryana Government regarding the determination of total seats in municipal corporations of the state, where general elections are to be held by the State Election Commission in the coming few weeks, which include Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Rohtak, Panipat, Yamunanagar, Karnal, and Hisar.
46 seats have been fixed in Faridabad Municipal Corporation, 36 in Gurugram Municipal Corporation, 26 in Panipat Municipal Corporation, 22 each in Yamunanagar and Rohtak Municipal Corporations, and 20 each in Karnal, Hisar, and Manesar Municipal Corporations.
In the notification issued regarding this, it is mentioned that as per the population obtained from the Family Information Data Fund established under the Haryana Family Identity Act, 2021, or 140 percent of the registered voters of the concerned Municipal Corporation area, whichever is higher.
