JAMMU Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday declared BJP's commitment to eradicate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it will be buried "so deep that it can never rise again".
Shah's remarks came during an election rally in the Padder-Nagseni assembly segment of Kishtwar district, as he reiterated that Article 370 is a thing of the past and will never return to India's constitution.
Addressing voters on the final day of campaigning for the J&K assembly elections, Shah emphasised the region's sacrifices since the 1990 insurgency and promised an unrelenting fight against terrorism. "Today, I promise to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that we will bury terrorism so deeply that it will never surface again," said Shah, while warning that attempts are being made to revive terrorism.
In a tribute to victims of terrorism, Shah remembered BJP leaders Anil and Ajit Parihar and RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, who were killed in terror-related incidents. He sharply criticized the National Conference-Congress alliance for allegedly making promises to release terrorists from prison.
