How MP Deputy CM driving healthcare reform
The Daily Guardian|November 29, 2024
Madhya Pradesh is steadily cruising towards new health targets with state Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla being in the driver's seat.
How MP Deputy CM driving healthcare reform

The government's recent decision to recruit 3,000 doctors to ramp up the healthcare system testifies to the state's urgency in providing improved and easily accessible medical care to ordinary people. Speaking to the press at Rewa, his constituency, Shukla, 60, said the initiative would boost services at the district hospitals as well as at the community and primary health centres that offer the first line of treatment.

Besides the recruitment of much-needed doctors, the state health department, under the minister's leadership, has readied a broad plan to make Madhya Pradesh a healthcare destination. The plan includes the building of super speciality hospitals, installation of sophisticated instruments, improving communication, and, above all, increasing the number of medical colleges and institutions to create more doctors and trained medical staff.

Rajendra Shukla's efforts are in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's endeavours to bolster the Indian economy and accelerate the pace of change, with healthcare being a key component of a better life.

One of Narendra Modi's flagship projects, Ayushman Bharat, is indicative of his commitment to building a healthy and strong India.

In essence, the health services in Madhya Pradesh are being shaped according to the Prime Minister's vision.

The state government's goal is to make Madhya Pradesh a front-ranking state across all health parameters in the country, especially in achieving low infant and maternal mortality rates.
