During the run chase of 222 runs, Bangladesh openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das started off with some attacking shots. Emon hit three fours to start off the innings.

However, Arshdeep Singh got some payback for these boundaries by cleaning up Emon for 16 in 12 balls, with three fours. Bangladesh was 20/1 in 2.3 overs.

Litton continued his hitting unfazed, with skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Shanto was removed by Washington Sundar for 11 runs in seven balls. Bangladesh was 40/2 in 4.3 overs.

Indian spinners started to dominate, with Varun Chakravarthy getting Litton for 14 and Abhishek Sharma getting Towhid Hridoy (2). Bangladesh was 46/4 in 6.5 overs.

Bangladesh reached the 50-run mark in 7.3 overs.
