'J&K polls a choice between BJP's development and Oppn's reversion'
The Daily Guardian|August 31, 2024
In a stirring appeal ahead of Jammu and Kashmir’s upcoming state elections, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy declared that peace had returned to the region following the abrogation of Article 370, marking the fifth anniversary of the contentious decision.

Addressing reporters on Friday, Reddy asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir now face a crucial choice in the elections—whether to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its vision for development or to revert to a past marked by terrorism and separatism.

Reddy claimed that the abrogation of Article 370, which stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, had led to the near-elimination of activities orchestrated by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. “Today, almost 98 per cent of these activities have been eradicated,” he stated, attributing the region’s newfound peace to the Union government’s decisive actions.

Emphasizing the significance of the upcoming elections, Reddy urged the people to carefully consider their options. “This is a very important election. The people of Jammu and Kashmir hold a big responsibility. I believe they will make the right decision after analysing all aspects. No one in Jammu and Kashmir wants Article 370 back,” he said.
