After six years of delayed justice, the High Court of Madhya Pradesh delivered a landmark judgment on December 4, 2024, to establish comprehensive safety guidelines for school buses and transport systems across educational institutions.

The bench, comprising Honorable Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice B.K. Diwedi, set out a series of measures aimed at ensuring the safety of children, marking a critical step forward in protecting students during their daily commute.

This ruling serves as a vital benchmark in the ongoing fight for student safety, emphasizing the need for strict regulatory oversight. The judgment arose after multiple Public Interest Litigations (PILs) were filed by concerned citizens, triggering the court to address the lack of comprehensive school bus regulations in the state.
