Bandra Fort conservation under archaeology dept scrutiny

The Maharashtra Archaeology Department will inspect the preservation and conservation work of Bandra Fort after environmentalists raised concerns about the repair work and alleged the fort's concretisation.

As reported by the Free Press Journal earlier, residents of Bandra expressed dismay over the recent beautification work at the 17th-century heritage Castella De Aguada, also known as Bandra Fort and the Fort Garden. They lamented that the revamp violated the law prohibiting the removal, alteration, and defacement of any protected monument.
