Soon after the Karnataka High Court rejected the plea of sitting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to stay the investigation order issued by the Governor of Karnataka against him and his family, who are accused in the MUDA land scam, the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that the CM immediately resign and called for a free and independent investigation into the corruption allegations against him.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, senior BJP leader and former union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the MUDA case is a clear example of how a sitting Chief Minister has misused his office for personal gain.
Chandrasekhar claimed that after the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, the Congress got an opportunity to serve in the government based on numerous promises it made and upon forming an alliance with various parties.
