In a dramatic turn of events, JCB's deployed by the anti-encroachment wing of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) rolled into action and started pulling down illegally constructed structures, including makeshift shops and extensions in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road, on Tuesday afternoon.
Also, the Naya Nagar police have arrested a hatemonger identified as Abu Shaikh for provoking people by creating and circulating a video clip which went viral on various social media networking sites. Already, Mira Road was tense after a scuffle broke out between members of two communities during a rally. Shaikh has been booked for promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion.
