Cabinet OKs 78-day bonus for rly staff

Productivity linked reward - States get say in new agri schemes, national mission scheme for port, dock workers for boosting production of oilseed, edible oils

The union cabinet on Thursday approved a modified productivity linked reward (PLR) scheme for the major ports and dock labour board employees and workers and a productivity linked bonus (PLB) for 78 days for the railway employees.

The cabinet also approved the PM Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana to promote sustainable agriculture and Krishonnati Yojana to achieve food security for self-sufficiency. Under the schemes, the states have been given flexibility to reallocate funds from one component to another based on their specific requirement.

The cabinet also approved the National Mission on Edible Oils - Oilseeds (NMEO-Oilseeds) for 2024-25 to 2030-31, which aims to make India self-reliant in oilseeds production in 7 years.
