CBI arrests advocate

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a panel advocate of Indian Bank, Kolhapur, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs1.70 lakh from a complainant, agency officials said on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Patankar, a resident of Ichalkaranji.

The CBI had registered a case on Tuesday, based on a complaint against the accused on allegations that he demanded a bribe of Rs2.5 lakh from the complainant.
