Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Deepak Baij on Thursday raised the demand for roll back of the hike in electricity prices.

He addressed the media claiming that the steel units of the state have been closed for more than a week, due to which more than 2 lakh labourers, transporters and other people associated with these industries are facing a livelihood crisis.

He said the representatives of the industries are continuously requesting the government to accept their demands, but the government is adamant. He said the hike has hit the steel industry of the state.

Baij said the state is one of the biggest producers of energy but the citizens are forced to procure expensive power. The coal, land, and water are of state.
