Former Surat Collector Ayush Oak likely to be reinstated
The Free Press Journal|December 17, 2024
The Gujarat government is reportedly considering reinstating former Surat District Collector Ayush Oak, who was suspended in May 2024 for his alleged involvement in the ₹2,000 crore Dumas land scam.
Former Surat Collector Ayush Oak likely to be reinstated

The move has sparked criticism from opposition leaders, with Congress General Secretary Darshan Nayak demanding a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case before Oak's reinstatement.

Ayush Oak's suspension followed accusations of approving the wrongful entry of Ganotia's name into government land survey number 311/3 in Dumas, Surat. This land, valued at ₹2,000 crore, was allegedly transferred under dubious circumstances, leading to significant financial loss to the Gujarat government. The controversy was brought to light by a written complaint filed by MLA Tushar Chaudhary and Congress leader Darshan Naik.
