Step By Step, Pune Will House World's Largest Stepwell

Henceforth, World Environment Day 2024 in Pune will be remembered as the precursor to another historic day, when the foundation stone for the construction of the world's largest stepwell was laid, the first such water conservation effort in the last 500 years, in India's first sustainable township.

While people especially visit the stepwells of Gujarat and Rajasthan to get firsthand experience of ancient water conservation techniques and architectural beauty, Pune will soon have its own stepwell, the largest in the whole world. Sandeep Sonigra, a builder known for his eco-friendly projects, including India's first five-star rated green project, will build the world's largest stepwell in EvoGreen City, coming up in Dehu, Pune.

EvoGreen City will be the country's first sustainable township to be built on approximately 45 acres of land in Dehu.
