It also highlighted developments in high-end, cutting-edge fields, such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

Professor Rees also shares insights into how UCL nurtures the environment of research for its members, with instances of the success of Indian students and opportunities tailored towards furthering academia and professional growth.

FPJ: Can you tell us about any upcoming research projects with Indian institutions?

Professor Rees: As our President & Provost Dr Michael Spence wrote recently, UK universities place enormous value on partnerships with Indian institutions and recognise India as a vital partner for bidirectional learning and advancing international research and innovation.

UCL has announced a new phase to its partnership with IISc Bengaluru to expand our innovative work together in healthcare.

Together we agreed to facilitate closer collaboration between IISc's forthcoming Postgraduate Medical School and UCL across research, education, innovation, and commercialisation.
