The police have identified the woman who vandalised the nameplate of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Mantralaya. She is a resident of Shivaji Park in Dadar West and is reportedly mentally unstable. On Thursday, after 6.30pm, she reached Fadnavis' office on the sixth floor of Mantralaya, pulled out the nameplate and threw it on the floor. The Marine Drive police are now investigating how she managed to enter Mantralaya's Secretariat Gate without a valid pass.
The police reached her flat but said she didn't open the door and locked herself in. They said that she has been living alone since her father, an active RSS functionary, passed away.
