Police in the state of Victoria said they were called to Melbourne's eastern suburbs after receiving reports of a barefoot woman trying to flag down passing traffic. She told police she had been travelling at about 50 miles an hour when she felt something on her foot and realised it was a snake.
The reptile was later identified as a tiger snake, one of the world's deadliest, that had curled up under the steering wheel of the car.
