Steven Schumacher is on the shortlist for the League One manager-ofthe-season, along with Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna and Darren Moore of Sheffield Wednesday.
Schumacher has guided the Pilgrims to second place in the table with six games to go, and with 83 points they already have three more than for the whole of last term.
Meanwhile, wing-back Bali Mumba is on the shortlist for the League One young player-of-the-season after excelling for Argyle on loan from Championship club Norwich City.
Charlton Athletic’s Jes Rak-Sakyi, who has been on loan from Crystal Palace, and Cameron Humphreys of Ipswich are also up for the award.
The nomination will come as a boost for Mumba, who suffered a dislocated kneecap near the end of the 3-1 Good Friday win away to Morecambe, although the hope is that he will be able to return to action before the end of the season.
The 2023 EFL Awards will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London on Sunday, April 23.
The EFL teams-of-the-season will be announced on the night with a starting XI chosen for each individual division. The EFL goal-of-the-season award will be voted for by the public on ITV and announced on the evening.
