Brent is chair of city's NHS Trust

FORMER Plymouth Argyle chairman James Brent has been named as the new chair of the NHS Trust which runs Derriford Hospital.

Mr. Brent takes over from Richard Crompton, whose term of office at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust came to an end last month.

Mr. Brent, whose term as chair will run from yesterday to July 31, 2026, had a 25-year career as an investment banker and was the youngest ever director of a merchant bank J Henry Schroder and Co. He was also Citigroup's head and chairman of real estate and lodging, and a member of Citigroup's Global Banking Operating Committee.
