Care home manager struck off register

A CARE home manager has been struck off the nursing register after a panel found she had failed to act when a member of staff tested positive for Covid, and failed to disclose to her boss she had been barred by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Nursing and Midwifery Council's Fitness to Practise Committee held the hearing in August into the misconduct of Kelly Ann Mano, a registered nurse from Plymouth.

Ms Mano did not attend the misconduct hearing held in August and was informed by letter of the decision by the council to strike her off, after all 11 charges were found to be proven by the panel.

The hearing noted Ms Mano was the Home Manager, with overall responsibility at the Elburton Heights Care Home on Springfield Road, Plymstock, from February 2018 to August 2021.

As part of her role, she was responsible for directly receiving Covid PCR test results from staff to her mobile phone and her email.
