A PLYMOUTH primary school has finally been deemed ‘good’ by Ofsted, after a wait of 12 years.
Austin Farm Academy, in Eggbuckland, has been ordered to improve since 2011 – and now staff and pupils are celebrating being praised by the education watchdog.
In the most recent Ofsted inspection, published on September 19, 2023, inspectors says leaders at the school – part of Westcountry Schools Trust – have been “relentless in their drive for improvement”, adding the school has “rapidly improved”.
The academy say this represents a remarkable turnaround for the school that had not been judged ‘good’ since 2011. The school is also celebrating achieving an ‘outstanding’ grade for its early years provision.
