THE new bosses at Plymouth's oldest pub are appealing for the safe return of its famous bench.
They reopened the 16th century Minerva Inn last Wednesday - but turned up for work on Saturday morning to find the bench which had sat outside the pub for 15 years was gone.
They have not reported the disappearance to the police yet and are hoping it has simply been removed by pranksters who will return it in one.
piece. They are even considering giving something, possibly a bottle of toffee vodka, as a "token gesture" to anyone who finds the bench and can bring it back.
