The Green Army raised £6,000 for the midfielder, who fell into financial difficulties and was planning on auctioning off his winner's medal from the club's successful 2003-04 campaign.
Funded by Sky Bet and Argyle, the gesture is taking place at the Pilgrims Championship clash against Ipswich Town, and is part of a campaign celebrating football fans.
Sky Bet's #ForTheFans campaign aims to champion the modern football fan and fan culture whilst making their matchday experience better.
