The Greens came into the game after back-to-back defeats in the league and cup after suffering an 82-59 loss to Bath just 24 hours before the home encounter with Surrey.

Plymouth came into the game missing the talismanic figure of Tom Elliot-Smith, who was sidelined after dislocating his thumb in the loss to Bath, but still, spirits where high among the 300-plus crowd that crammed into the Life Centre hoping to see the green machine's first win of the season.

They were not to be disappointed with the Raiders putting on a fine performance for their fans.

The Raiders' starting five included summer signing Bradley NewtonClark and Allister Gall, who lined up alongside returning players Lombe Mumba, Tom Woods and Jamie Davies.
