UNIVERSITY students looking for a ‘giggle’ by using drugs like cannabis are fuelling the misery of modern slavery. That’s the view of Devon’s police commissioner who wants the county’s students to think again before using socalled recreational drugs.
Speaking as police revealed details of raids on huge cannabis factories, commissioner Alison Hernandez said: “Talking about recreational drugs makes it sound like it’s fun, and you can do it, and it’s legal – but it’s not.
“There’s an awful lot of suffering going into you having that giggle.”
