After the acquisition of Truro City’s George Newton last week, the Lambs have since announced that local lad Charlie Elkington is making the move from Western League runners-up Saltash United.
The talented 19-year-old made 28 appearances for the Ashes this season, and scored five goals, as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Southern League last season, losing 2-0 in a promotion/relegation play-off to Bristol Manor Farm, who retained their Step Four status.
The Lambs are in need of defensive reinforcements after seeing key stoppers Dan Evans and Warren Daw both announce they were retiring form football after the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign. Both have played huge parts in Tavi’s rise from the South West Peninsula League to the Southern Premier Division One South.
Elkington recently came second to Mousehole’s Hayden Turner in an online poll to decide the Western League’s player of the season and Lambs boss Stuart Henderson was delighted to get him signed up for the forthcoming campaign.
“A number of clubs were in for Charlie and I am thrilled he chose to come to Tavistock, and was excited with our future plans and ambitions,” Henderson said.
