Ex-officer in misconduct charges

A FORMER police officer has appeared in court accused of 20 counts of misconduct in a public office by disclosing to others confidential material.

Sam Hill, aged 33 and from Herbert Street, Plymouth appeared at Bristol Crown Court via video link facing charges relating to her role as a police officer.

Hill is alleged to have “wilfully neglected” to perform her duty and “wilfully misconducted herself” in her role as an officer.

During the hearing at Bristol Crown Court, defence barrister Jenny Tallentire requested the plea and trial preparation hearing be adjourned to next year, which was not opposed by prosecutor Sarah Regan.

Judge Michael Cullum agreed and the next hearing was listed for January 17, 2025.

The charges relate to incidents which occurred between January 2021 and November 2021.
