A WOMAN'S love was used against her when she was brutally murdered by a Plymouth man, an inquest has heard.
Michaela Hall, 49, was stabbed in an eye and her brain by her then partner, Lee Kendall, from Stoke, on May 31, 2021, at her home in Mount Hawke, Cornwall.
An alcoholic and drug addict, the ex-prisoner and Michaela met while she was working as a prison resettlement officer in February 2019 a relationship which led to her suspension and then resignation in April that year.
After a trial at Truro Crown Court in 2022, Kendall was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum 21 years for Michaela's murder.
It is almost three years since her death, but delays due to the complexity of the case meant a formal inquest into her death is only now being held at the Coroner's Court in Truro, Cornwall.
The inquest, which is expected to last for two weeks, began on Monday.
